Portablism Battle

This year, the Sample Music Festival is once again partnering with PortablismGear to bring back the exhilarating Portablism Heavyweight Scratch Battle from 2019. Witness the unparalleled talent of the top scratchers as they battle it out for the ultimate title.

Schedule

The competition will take place on July 18th at 7 PM at the outdoor area of House of Music. All contestants will perform a 1-minute scratch routine over a beat played from a scratch looper.

Rules

The tournament principle applies. All entries are drawn into groups consisting of two participants, who then compete against each other. The winner advances to the next round and the loser is eliminated from the battle. (no draw)

Hardware

Portable Turntable with internal fader for left and right handed scratcher will be provided. You can also bring your own portable. No DVS allowed.

The jury will consider the following criteria when making their decisions: flow, timing, and technique.
