For the 7th edition of the Sample Music Festival, we had the highest of expectations, as this was our lucky number and was planned as a momentous milestone. Our hopes were exceeded, as the festival was a resounding success, with attendees from all over the world, and a lineup of incredible performances.

On the evening of July 29th, Berlin was witness to a momentous occasion: the very first DMC Scratch Championship. The level of skill and talent displayed by the competitors was simply astounding, and the crowd went nuts. To top it off, after 7 years, the legendary D-Styles returned to SMF to perform for the very first time ever a team showcase with DJ Eprom from Poland. It was a night that will go down in history! The 5th Finger Drumming World Championship was in no way inferior! With participants from all over the world, including Brazil, Japan, Spain, France and beyond, the routines were absolutely stunning and the live broadcast gained a huge amount of international attention.

We have further expanded our partnership with the nonprofit organization Turning Tables and the Berlin youth network OUTREACH 361, resulting in a series of meaningful workshops for young musicians that culminated in an incredible live concert on Sunday evening at House of Music.

Overall, we can confidently say that this was the best Sample Music Festival yet! The vibe was amazing and the quality of the performances, competitions and jam session was breathtaking.
